At the beginning of the year, we ordered a new custom upholstered by in Serenity Linen (we have pillows available in the same fabric here). It finally arrived and I've started putting our room back together. The next piece of the puzzle is a bench at the foot of the bed. I would really like to find a unique antique bench and have a cushion made for it (in our Claire Stripe in Slate), but my backup plan is to order this one from Furniture Classics. I like the idea of doing a lighter, more rustic wood tone since all of the furniture in this room is a dark walnut or cherry finish.
I specifically designed the Ellie pillows for this room. I knew I wanted something airy and large enough scale to compliment our wallpaper. The colors perfectly match the soft dusty blue/green of the leaves and the natural tone of the flower.
I have becoming more of a pillow minimalist in our bedroom. Here is my formula that I've decided I like the best :
2 x 2 sleeping pillows (standard or king for your bed size, we upgraded to these in our old bed I just bought the king size for this bed. Obsessed.)
2 x Euro Pillows in front (solid color or matching to duvet)
1 x Rectangle/Lumbar Pillow (the Ellie pillow shown here)
Winter : White Quilt + Duvet folded over the bottom
Summer : Duvet folded over the bottom
Our Bedding
I ordered all new bedding, since we were upgrading from a queen to a king bed. In 100% transparency, my plan was to splurge on the big grown up Sferra or Matouk Bedding, but I am not quite ready to pull the trigger. We have several other priority items that I'd rather invest in at the time. I also didn't realize how much of an investment they actually were!
Instead, I did some research and found some very beautifully made Sheets and Duvet Cover in the hemstitch style that I was looking for. We LOVE them. They were not nearly expensive and often on sale. I got a duvet, two euro shams and a sheet set for around $600 since they were on sale.
