This season we are leaning into simplicity - classic ticking stripes, storybook tags, pretty papers, and all of the sentimental feels of childhood holidays in a simpler time.
It has been a while since I've been drawn to yellow. I am typically more of a blue or green (more on that below), but this season I've been reminded of how lovely yellow can be. It has a nostalgic feel - remember all of those rooms painted a warm yellow with a creamy white trim in the 90's? I can remember oogling over a lemon and chocolate brown wedding in a Martha Stewart Weddings issue.
I find that when any of my designs feel a little flat, adding a bit of gold brightens them up immediately. Happily, it is easy to incorporate in your home if you are a blue, green and brown person like me. And it looks so springy with Jadeite.
This table makes me so happy. I gave myself permission to keep it so simple - and this is truly how I would set a table for a real lunch or dinner in our home. It would make a great table for a Shower or for Easter brunch. I cut the Hellebores from a few plants I found at Trader Joe's and put them in the Jadeite Tumblers that make anything look charming. They will keep for weeks.
I think the secret for setting a table that has that certain (MSL?) feeling is to keep the color palette very tight. I usually keep it to two colors and repeat each a couple of times. It keeps it from feeling too busy.
Papers & Tags are always a big part of our seasonal collections. They are often where I start my collections. We have three new designs this season. The "Lauren" features a creamy antique background (the softest muted yellow), sage leaves and a gold berry.
I couldn't help myself than to name this sophisticated print "Carolyn" after my (and it seems like everyone's) current TV obsession. Do you think she'd like it?
The design is a vining berry print that forms a striation from a distance. As far as patterns go, this might be my most skilled creation - I'm not sure how it turned out so beautiful. I love it.
This collection also incudes our Easter tags that turn any of these papers into the sweetest packaging for a basket. I always wrap our daughters little goodies so the basket looks pretty... and I don't worry about the actual gifts fitting into my color scheme. This was especially helpful during those bright years of Trolls and Disney toys.
All of these darling watercolor tags are in one collection of our "Storybook" Tags. They come in a set of 8 varied tags. I had the best time mixing them with my papers to create schemes. The possibilities really do seem endless. I created this scheme in blue grosgrain and green gingham for my nephews.
This season I found the most adorable paper plates and napkins - so cute for the kids table or a party.
I added two new art collections both French inspired - French Botanicals & French Landscapes. We have a new printing source that has the most beautiful textured, thick paper for the prints.
These are things that I personally own and are obsessed with. What's a Spring Collection without flower favorites.
I have added several more Jadeite pieces - most that I have in my own home. The little bit of this perfect color brightens everything up.
