I will be honest - when I sat down this summer to design the Holiday Collection, I felt uninspired. This was my first summer without our neighborhood shop and I was (electively) not in work mode. I had drifted too far away into life-mode - a good thing, since that is the entire reason I closed the shop in the first place! I wanted to give myself a little more room for life since Emma's in high school and time was going too fast. But mid-summer? I just couldn't get into the holiday spirit and was feeling a little blah about the upcoming season.
I decided to outsource the inspiration and called on some of my most admired designers and friends. They came to the rescue with fresh ideas and design boards brimming with holiday spirit. I designed two papers for each of them based on design boards they created. Their visions (usually in the form of textiles and wallpapers) were just what I needed. It was fascinating to see some of the crossovers amongst their inspiration - they are all truly in-touch with all of the beautiful things happening in the design world.
My biggest challenge was to take all of their ideas and merge them so they would feel like one cohesive collection. I enjoyed the challenge tremendously. I love how each turned out individually, and I love how eclectic and decidedly designer they feel.

Lee Ann Thornton Interiors
Lee Ann Thornton of Lee Ann Thornton Interiors is a designer with incredibly charming, classic style. She works together with her daughter to create layered, timeless homes with character for their clients across the country. This was a natural collaboration because they have been customers of our wrapping paper for years. For this collection they pulled from country feeling textiles and nostalgic Americana elements. I love how this collection feels like primitive New England - which, as you know, has my heart.

Whittney Parkinson Design
This is the third year that Whittney Parkinson, of Whittney Parkinson Design and I have collaborated together to create holiday wrapping papers - I always look forward to seeing what her vision is each season.
